Re: Song translations
Yeah, that's one of the nice things about Mando'a. Like 40% of the words in a word-for-word translation can be dropped, since it prefers to rely on context unless for emphasis or clarity!

Re: Song translations
like it! The way I think of the difference is yust is the root word for any form of path (hence why it shows up in yustapir and such), goyust is anything more "constructed" instead of just being a trail, and chortav feels to me like a street in a city, somewhere built up a bit. You might find it han...

I love it!
Honestly, I giggled a bit about the Resol'nare being referenced because in my mind it makes it sound so much more serious and philosophical

Re: Mando'a grammar?
"To be" is "cuyir" with "is" being just "cuy." However, this is dropped in most cases, only included for clarity or emphasis. The only real inflection is dropping the -r or -[vowel]r from the end of a verb to transfer from the infinitive form. However, as a matter of personal habit, I usually includ...

Re: Welcome to Learn Mando'a! (Post Here to Introduce Yourself)
Cuyir actuallt is "to be" in itself. Cuy doesn't mean "alive" (which would draw the root from oy), it only means "are"

Re: Welcome to Learn Mando'a! (Post Here to Introduce Yourself)
Honestly, I don't think there's a great answer to that. Easiest would be to chalk it up to languages doing funny things, I suppose. After all, why is it "su cuy'gar" instead of "gar su'cuy"?

Re: Looking for translation help
Either ne or nu works just as well, it's more a matter of preference. "as" is sa instead of sah, but other than that it's a great translation. Good job getting the conjugations on the verbs right, a lot of beginners rely on translators and don't get the grammar side very well.

Olarom! Sadly, there's not huge amounts of spoken Mando'a out there. You either need to hunt for it, or find someone willing to practice with you.

Re: Dolch sight words and simplified grammar
I think that looks like a handy primer for people. I'll take a longer look at the grammar later, but it didn't seem to be missing anything serious at a glance.

Try hibira instead of hibiran, but otherwise it looks good. Sensible life advice, I like it! Olarom!
