Re: Canonical Variants of Mandalorian
Very interesting. I have to say, the Clone Wars version does look a lot more managable. Though the choice of combining i and j makes words like jii look kinda silly. Also, my main issue with the font was not how hard it was to write (although that was certainly problematic), but how hard the letters...

Re: Skotah Gehat'ik: Kadas bal Mando'ad
This is a very nice text you wrote there! I've noticed you use a lot of explicit pronouns (kaysh, gar, ni) in paces where it is already implied by context, so I feel like you could leave those out without trouble. In fact, in the way I interpret the grammar, I'd even leave out the "ti" and "be" - un...

Re: Translation of the Concordian Dialect in The Clone Wars
When I first saw that scene I immediately paused and looked at the subtitles. But when I realized, the first sentence could not be translated with what we have, I just stopped thinking about it, and just assumed it was made-up gibberish (just like whatever Jango Fett says to Boba on Kamino, when Obi...

Re: List of Custom Words
I was looking for a translation for "Thus" or "Therefore", something to do reasoning, but I couldn't find one. There are however the words jorcu (because) and jorbe (reason), as well as ibic (this). Hence, I suggest:
jorbic - thus, therefore, hence. Lit.: for this reason
jorbic - thus, therefore, hence. Lit.: for this reason

Re: How would you say "Loophole?"
Oh, bummer. I didn't know that about the double negative. Do you have a reference for that by any chance? I couldn't find it in the (admittedly quite limited) Kar'buir rule set. I honestly liked ash'duumyc better than ge'duumyc, because the latter seems to refer to something that is technically stil...

Re: How would you say "Loophole?"
I like Vlet's suggestion. At the risk of getting things too long and thus unwieldy, one might replace ash by nuhaatyc. So nuhaatyc duumyc, as in something that was unnoticed to be allowed. Shortening this to a double negative nu'neduumyc - something that is not not allowed (not forbidden)- also work...

Re: "This is the Way" in mando'a ?
Unfortunately I haven't watched the show (Disney+ is still unavailable in Europe...), so I don't know the context. I do very much like your suggestion of "Ibic Manda", because it sticks to canon Mando'a. However what bothers me abuot it is the abrupt break between the two consonants c (in ibic) and ...

Re: Random Quotes
In the extended dictionary by Taljair there is the word ani'la for that. However that is non-canon Mando'a, so beware.
Using only canon words by Kar'buir, one might perhaps replace it by laamyne (highest) or dralne (strongest).

Re: Passive Voice, Gerunds, and Progressive Verbs
I know it's been a while since the last post in this thread, but I would like to revive it nonetheless, by going back to the very start and talk about gerunds. I do agree with the Adi's remark that any the progressive use of the gerund is unnecessary in Mando'a as it can easily be rephrased to be a ...
