Re: Random Quotes
I might have misspelled stuff, and wrecked mandoa grammar, but well.. I tried. I had fun and spent too much time on this, so I hope you see this... Oya! Congratulations on your efforts! I like that you tried to go for meaning over one-to-one translation. It's fun to see Earth sayings with Mando spi...

Re: My Mando Culture Research
If Earth Mandalorian culture was more defined, and there were actual Mandalorian communities (even if they mostly existed online and only met once a year), then I could see branching out beyond the dishes that we know about in the source material. I know of one group that kind of fits that descripti...

Re: My Mando Culture Research
I created a Google site to collect links to information about the in-universe culture and Earth Mando realism. There's many more ideas out there, especially when you get into fan fiction, but these are my favorites. https://sites.google.com/view/hibirarmandoa/bajur/mando-droten As for what to do wit...

Re: Finest Сasual Dating - Real-life Females
Augest, I assume you're in as many Mando realism servers as you can find? (I can think of a couple off-hand. I know of four people who found partners in one of them.) Plus creating your cosplay armor and joined those groups? (This avenue is one that I've heard a few more people getting together thro...

Re: Mandalorian Ritual Symbology
The depth and thought put into this is kandosiila. You have a great balance of how each aspect can be viewed as positive or negative. Thank you for sharing! Do each of symbols appear in each of the Houses? I have forgotten how the Tarot deck is set up. A few ideas seemed off in my quick read-through...

Re: Welcome to Learn Mando'a! (Post Here to Introduce Yourself)
Su'cuy, everyone! [snip] To echo Vlet: you're off to a good start! Having done research into Mandalorians both in-universe and on Earth, not knowing the Resol'nare rhyme would be low on the list of reasons to get shot. In-universe, where the only ways to become a Mandalorian are to be adopted by or...

Re: Found some stuff
Here's the text to go with the material from Istraello. Note that the person takes a slight detour in lesson 3 to explain how to derive words, with examples. Text for lesson 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/Mandoa/comments/21xylz/mandoa_lessons_introduction_and_resources/ Text for lesson 2: https://www.r...
Re: Off Topic
That or maybe I'm just not correct. It depends on who you want to communicate with. Go to the Oyu'baat, you'll need to follow that dialect's rules. In these forums, if people aren't constantly questioning what you write, and you are mimicking the style of the majority (and definitely of Vlet!), the...
Re: Off Topic
Again, speaking from memory: The kind of agreement is less formal and more of "we won't shut you down if you follow our rules."
Re: Off Topic
By the way, if Sa is like/as, the dictionary has it wrong. It's as in the dictionary. If I recall correctly (and it's been a while since I looked for the information), the dictionary hosted here cannot be changed because of an agreement with Lucasfilm. That's one reason many people maintain their o...

Re: To Know and To Love
The phrase jatne emuurir means "to prefer," while guuror means "to be fond of." Either one could be used to indicate a lesser version of "to love." I've done my own contemplating on the topic of the various levels of like and dislike: https://sites.google.com/view/hibirarmandoa/pirimmur/like-dislike
Re: Writing
Here my web page of significant works from me. I've done a lot more, but I haven't put them in an easily accessible format.

Dolch sight words and simplified grammar
As many of you know, one way to learn how to read is to memorize common words. As a way for me to practice Mando'a, I decided to translate the Dolch sigh-words list. This list gives words that kids in K through second grade will see in books for their grade level. Normally, the list is ordered by gr...
